About Us
Our Story
Ark of the Rockies Church is a gathering of believers rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ. We've been ministering to the people of Colorado Springs since 1997 and would be delighted to have you join us!
Our Purpose
The Bible is the inspired word of God and just as applicable today as when it was first written. It's our roadmap of how we live. Ark of the Rockies Church is focused on accomplishing three purposes that are found in the Bible: Glorify God (Eph 3:21), grow believers in their walk with Jesus (Eph 4:11-16), and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world (Matt 28:18-20). See more about our beliefs below.
Beliefs

I. GOD
We believe that there is only one true, living, and Eternal God and that the Godhead is revealed as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

II. THE BIBLE
We believe that the Holy Scriptures are the Old and New Testaments, the inspired and infallible Word of God, and therein is found the only reliable guide of Christian faith and conduct.

III. MAN
We believe that God created man in His own image (Genesis 1:26-27) to bring Him honor through obedience, and when man disobeyed, he became a fallen and sinful creature, unable to save himself. We believe that infants are in the covenant of God¹s grace and that all persons become accountable to God when they reach a state of moral responsibility.

IV. SALVATION
We believe that salvation (regeneration, sanctification, justification, and redemption) has been provided for all mankind through the redemptive work (life, death, resurrection, ascension, and intercession) of Jesus Christ, and that this salvation can be received only through repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).

V. ASSURANCE AND ENDURANCE
We believe that those who trust and follow Jesus Christ have assurance of salvation (John 10:27-28, 1 John 5:12-13).

VI. CHRISTIAN LIVING
The Christian life is not lived by self effort, but by dependence on the power of the Holy Spirit. As such, we believe Christians should live faithfully by utilizing their spiritual gifts in the local church, pray diligently, witness earnestly, practice tolerance, show loving kindness, give as God prospers, and conduct themselves in such a way as to bring glory to God.

VIII. ORDINANCES
We believe that baptism and the Lord¹s Supper are ordinances instituted by Jesus to be observed by Christians only. We also believe that the Biblical mode of baptism is immersion and that participation in the Lord¹s Supper should be open to all Christians.

IX. LAST THINGS
We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ, and in the bodily resurrection of the dead. We believe that God will judge all mankind by Jesus Christ; that He will reward the righteous with eternal life (John 3;16, Romans 6:23), and He will banish the unrighteous to eternal death (Revelation 20:11-15).
Our Values
+ Love one another with the love of Christ: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another" (John 13:34, NIV).
+ Speak the truth of God's Word to one another: "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ" (Ephesians 4:15, NIV).
+ Grow in Christ by fellowshipping: "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (Acts 2:42, NIV). After most services, all are invited to share a time of food and fellowship together. In this way we get to know and encourage one another and grow closer as brothers and sisters in Christ.
